Hill Coates sponsors Combat Stress Clay Shoot

Friday. Sep 28, 2018 / Simon Hill

For the fourth year running Hill Coates Associates has been pleased to sponsor the hospitality package at the Combat Stress Clay Day at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School at Pangbourne. This was particularly apt in this centenary year of the end of the First World War when so many soldiers were executed for cowardice for having what we now know as PTSD. The charity, itself nearly 100 years old, does valuable work with veterans to help them understand and cope with their condition, running residential courses at its headquarters near Leatherhead, with peer groups in the community or on the phone or on-line. The really good news that whilst the average time before Falklands Veterans presented symptoms was 20 years whereas veterans from Afghanistan are averaging 3 years to come forward and the charity is able to help people who have given so much to our nation so much earlier. Some 80 shooters participated in a ten stand sporting clay lay-out including a team flurry and the legendary Times Tower
