IMD International Conference

Simon Hill, Hill Coates’s Managing Consultant, attended the International Conference of IMD International Search Group in Monterrey, Mexico from the 12-15th October 2016. Delegates attended from member firms in Australia & New Zealand, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, UK and the USA. Hill Coates gave presentations introducing other members to the UK market and introducing our own company. Discussions took place on shared best practice as well as how to collaborate in the various regions and territories, There was a very interesting introduction to working in China from David Wu of GMP Talent from Shanghai. Around the official programme delegates visited the disused blast furnace in Monterrey which was brought to life again by a very realistic light show even simulating the molten steel being tapped from the furnace. After this delegates enjoyed huge steaks in the EL Ingot restaurant elsewhere  on the redeveloped site. Dinner the next night was at the Industrial Club overlooking the twinkling lights of the city of 7 million people which we could really sense from the Club’s roof terrace, the size of two football pitches! Over-running presentations or elongated questions attracted the penalty of consuming a local delicacy – crickets!
